About Us

We are a community made up of full-time and seasonal residents (and some former residents who still return to visit) in what was once called "Maple Grove" (over 90 years ago) on Lake Erie in the town of Port Dover, Ontario.

In the 1950s, our neighbourhood was gifted land by a fellow resident to create a park. The Rita Park Cottagers Association was established to become its legal owner. All of the residents in the 2+ block community were original members of the Association.

Our neighbourhood has a rich history of working together toward the betterment of the community. Willing residents have worked on many projects over the years from building beach accesses and installing rock groynes in the lake to lobbying the town for street lights and garbage pick-up. In more recent history, the Association has focused on park and beach access maintenance and tree removal.

Get Involved

There has been a lot of property turnover during the last several years and many of our historical Rita Park Association families are gone. Whether you are a long-time resident or new to our neighbourhood, we invite you to get involved. The Association needs all of you. Community owned and supported green space is both a privilege and a big responsibility. By working together we can make the most of everything this beautiful neighbourhood has to offer.
